Apple to raise prices for Russian app users shortly on weak ruble
MOSCOW, Jan 19 (PRIME) -- Apple will raise prices in its Russian applications store, App Store, for mobile programs, games and music within the coming 72 hours, the company said in a letter seen by PRIME on Tuesday.
“When the exchange rate jumps, we are forced sometimes to revise prices at App Store,” the U.S. giant said.
The price policy stipulates that Apple’s applications, which used to cost 59 rubles, will have a tag of 75 rubles, and programs for 119 rubles will rise up to 149 rubles. Applications for 199 rubles will cost 229 rubles. The minimum price of an application will remain unchanged at 15 rubles.
Users will have to update their subscription.
Prices will also climb in such countries as Canada, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa.
